We’re a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization

We're bridging the gap between rescue and forever home. We are the bridge.

We are a cat adoption group that raises funds for veterinary care and helps cats get the treatment they need before placing them in foster or forever homes.

Cat Connections NYC MISSION

Saving Cats Lives with Connections

At Cat Connections NYC, we help to rescue and protect cats in need – whether abandoned, abused, or living on the streets. We believe that real change happens through connections. By building a trusted network of fosters, trappers, and compassionate cat lovers, we create a united front where shared purpose rises above differences, and every effort makes a difference. Together, we’re not just saving cats – we’re changing how rescue works.

Cat Connections NYC VISION

No Cat Left Behind…

Our vision is a world where no cat is left behind – and where collaboration, compassion, and community redefine what rescue means. We envision a connected network of everyday heroes – fosters, trappers, rescuers, and advocates – working together in harmony, without ego and conflict, to save and uplift feline lives. Together, we aim to build a rescue culture rooted in trust, respect, and shared purpose.

WHAT WE DO

We help to rescue homeless and at-risk cats through a trusted network of fosters, trappers, and advocates, giving each one a real chance at a safe, loving life

Cat Rescue

We are not the traditional rescue, but we help in rescuing cats. In a city like New York, where too many cats are abandoned, abused, or forgotten, we believe that a strong, compassionate network can be the difference between survival and hope.

Cat Adoption & Foster

Our mission is to find committed and responsible fosters and adopters who have the means to provide proper care for our cats, including their veterinary needs. We prioritize placing our animals in safe, nurturing environments where their well-being is a top priority.

Medical Care

We prioritize the health and well-being of every cat we help to rescue. We work with a network of trusted and reliable veterinarians, many of whom we’ve partnered with for years, to ensure that each cat receives the best medical care possible. From routine check-ups to ER, we’re dedicated to giving every cat the care they deserve.

Cat Connections

We believe in the power of community. We’re always working to build and expand our network by connecting with more fosters, trappers, veterinarians, and cat lovers who share our passion for cats. By continually growing our circle of support, we strengthen our ability to save lives and create lasting change for cats in need.

Why Donate To Us

High standards and execution

With your support, we can help cat rescuers rescue the cats from the streets, overcrowded homes, and situations where they are not properly cared for. We provide them with medical care, loving foster homes, and opportunities to socialize so they can get ready to find their forever homes, while ensuring that we always act in the best interests of the cats.

Every cat deserves a loving home, and our organization is making that a reality

All Our Areas

We are not just a bridge. We educate, advocate, entertain, and network to help not only cats but also the people involved in the cat rescue

HOW WE STAND OUT

We care for senior cats and those with medical needs – the ones most at risk of being euthanized in shelters

Many senior and special-needs cats can live long, happy lives with proper care, and we’re committed to giving them that chance instead of giving up on them too soon.

Meet Oliver - a sweet senior rescued from an abusive owner

When we first learned about Oliver, he was locked in a basement by his owner, slowly starving to death. Just days away from not surviving, he managed to escape and appeared outside in the backyard. We had been desperately trying to reach him and find a way to get him out safely. When he finally emerged, we trapped him and rushed him to safety, only to discover the full extent of his suffering – a life-threatening respiratory infection, multiple heart issues, broken teeth, and claws that had painfully grown into his paw pads.

Cat Connections NYC stepped in to give Olivier the life he deserved. We got him immediate medical attention, a foster home, and a care plan tailored to his fragile heart. Today, he’s no longer just surviving – he’s healing, resting safely, and learning what it feels like to be truly loved.

Due to multiple serious health conditions, Oliver is not available for adoption. He will spend his remaining years in the care of a forever foster, where his complex medical needs can be closely monitored and managed. You can still make a difference in his life by becoming his sponsor.

Meet Angel - a brave survivor of the car accident

Angel’s story is one of quiet strength and resilience.

She was found after being hit by a car – frightened, in pain, and unable to move her hind legs. Her injuries left her disabled, and for a time, it seemed she might never walk again. But Angel had other plans.

Through daily rehabilitation, gentle stretches, and endless patience, she began to show small signs of progress. Slowly, her determination turned into movement. Today, Angel can walk again – carefully and at her own pace – but every step she takes is a reminder of how far she’s come.

Angel will always need a little extra care, patience, and understanding. Like Olivier, she is not available for adoption due to the severity of her medical condition. You can still play a vital role in her life by becoming her sponsor.

Sometimes we can't save them all, but we give them a home before they go...

Jimmy was rescued from the streets and spent his final 8 months wrapped in love, in the caring home of a Cat Connection NYC member.

Jimmy is an example of a cat we don’t give up on. He was a senior, abandoned in his final years, and left to survive alone on the streets. The harsh conditions took a toll on his aging body, accelerating organ failure. Despite our best efforts and the care he received, Jimmy eventually passed away – but not before knowing warmth, comfort, and love in his final days. His story reminds us why we fight for every cat, no matter their age or condition.

Watch Jimmy’s Story on YouTube to see his life in a cozy home.

"Working with Alex was a fantastic experience. He was organized, hands-on, and clearly passionate about helping the cats. From planning the trapping strategy to safely transporting the cats, Alex made everything run smoothly. I’d gladly work with him again anytime! What really impressed me was his calm and focused approach, even in high-pressure situations. He thinks through every detail, making sure the safety and well-being of the cats always come first."

"I wanted to thank you very much for your invaluable help and sensitivity to people and their characters to find the best home for the cat. In Karl's case, both cats fell in love and decided for the people. It was beautiful to watch how naturally it all unfolded—like it was meant to be. You always take the time to understand both the animals and the adopters, and that makes all the difference."
